"I love creating beautiful images"

Based in Lancashire, I am a semi-professional photographer providing lifestyle, portrait and creative images. I started out in the fashion industry in the early eighties. Then for over twenty five years I worked in the beauty industry and as a makeup artist. Every job I've had, has usually involved working with photographers, so although getting into photography has been a long time coming, it has seemed like a natural progression. It is another creative medium in which to express myself. I started out at a hobbyist photographer just over three years ago. I simply wanted to take better photographs of my client's styling. However, this soon developed into a love affair with the camera. I started creating and designing my own photo shoots with models, and within the past twelve months, a selection of my images has been published in three issues of Femme Rebelle Magazine. Having that recognition has given me the confidence to continue on my photographic journey.

I am proud to be an Associate Member of the SWPP. In August 2017 I took part in a fashion photography workshop with Lara Jade Photography who's work is a great inspiration to me. I have also completed several photography training days at Aspire Photography Training. My mentor is photographer Andy Park at Onyx Studio near Chorley. I have learned a great deal about studio lighting with his help and guidance and am now a resident photographer there.

From a creative perspective, I will be experimenting with light in my next projects. I am not afraid to try something new and relish a challenge. My professional aim is to always focus on my client's needs and offer the very best service to produce perfect images that showcase their vision.

All the images on this website are also styled by me unless otherwise stated.

I get inspiration from anything and everything around me, but having a background in fashion and beauty has been the biggest influence and I think it is apparent in my images. I loved watching old Hollywood movies as a child so the glamour of those black and white images instilled a love of the sophisticated movie icon. Quirkiness, eccentric characters, mis-matched and busy patterns, bohemia, fairy tales, renaissance paintings fine art, story-telling, colour and nature are all appealing subjects to me.
