a personal branding photoshoot with anna bennett

Spending the day with Anna Bennett of Grove Design London in her charming Kirkby Lonsdale cottage was a wonderful blend of creativity, personality, and connection. From the moment I arrived, I could tell that Anna’s world was one filled with warmth, character, and—most importantly—animals who completely adore her! Anna has a rescue Shetland pony, a horse, three adorable little dogs, and three cats (one of whom was rescued from Romania). It was immediately clear how much she cares for them, and in turn, how much they love being around her. They all wanted to make their way into the photos, which made for some heartwarming and unexpected moments.

bringing anna's brand to life

Personal branding photography isn’t just about taking nice pictures—it’s about crafting a visual story that reflects who you are and what your business stands for. For Anna, I wanted to ensure that her brand’s personality came through in every image. Her creative approach to design, her love for animals, and the authenticity of her lifestyle all needed to be captured in a way that would resonate with her clients. We spent time exploring her cottage, which is currently undergoing renovation, and found perfect spots to shoot in her bathroom, kitchen, and living area. Even in an unfinished space, we found beauty in the details. The rustic charm of her surroundings paired with her stylish, bold fashion choices created a wonderful contrast that added depth to the photos.

a thoughtful process

Every shot was carefully considered—how would this look on her website? Would this help potential clients connect with her? Would it reflect her true personality? These are the details that make personal branding photography more than just a set of headshots. It’s about ensuring every image aligns with the brand’s ethos and attracts the right clients. For Anna, I wanted to highlight her energy, her sense of fun, and her deep-rooted love for both her work and her animals. She is someone who lives and breathes creativity, and it was essential to bring that out in every image.

showcasing authentic branding

What I love most about these sessions is the opportunity to create meaningful, engaging imagery that helps businesses tell their unique story. By capturing Anna’s vibrant and authentic personality, her brand now has a strong visual identity that will resonate with her audience.

capturing the studio environment

In addition to photographing Anna in her home, we also spent time in her design studio, where her creative process truly comes to life. Surrounded by fabric samples, design books, and materials that fuel her work, these images add another dimension to her brand story. The studio setting allowed us to capture Anna in her element—curating, designing, and engaging with the textures and colours that inspire her work. These moments help tell a more complete story of who she is as a designer and creative entrepreneur.

This day was an absolute joy—a mix of fun, laughter, and a whole lot of animal cuddles. Anna’s brand now has a visual narrative that speaks to who she is and what she offers, and I can’t wait to see how she uses these images to connect with her audience.
