Autumn. The season of woolly hats, rosy cheeks, and nature showing off like a peacock who’s discovered burnt umber. If summer is for languid picnics and gentle glows, autumn politely knocks, hands you a pumpkin, and says,
"Right then, let’s play". This gorgeous family embraced every moment of the season — rain showers included — and we created the most joyful, windswept, muddy-booted magic together.

The boys arrived ready for adventure. No hesitation. Just pure childhood energy — running, leaping, swinging, conquering giant pumpkins like tiny explorers on a mission. One well-timed rain cloud tried to join in the fun . . . and honestly, we loved it. Rain adds atmosphere, texture, and the kind of hair-whipping drama shampoo adverts can only dream of. Besides, puddles were made for stomping, not side-stepping. Their parents? Absolute stars. Relaxed, laughing, and fully on board with my “embrace the chaos, it photographs beautifully” philosophy. That’s the secret: when families play together, the camera simply follows the joy.

I’m not interested in stiff “everyone look this way” images. I want feeling. Movement. That warm scrunch-hug where you can practically hear the giggles. Childhood wonder framed by autumn colour. Fleeting glances. Hands holding tight.
And sometimes slightly soggy socks. This session had all of it — the wiggly energy, the hilarious expressions, the heart-melting cuddles. The kind of images that don’t just say “We went to a pumpkin patch” but whisper:
This is us. This is our season of life. And it’s beautiful.

Oh, autumn . . . soft skies, copper leaves and pumpkins casually scattered like nature’s confetti. Boots with stories in every splash mark. It’s the perfect setting for heart-led, natural portraits — especially when little ones are free to roam and explore. We’re not staging a scene — we’re documenting childhood in all its glorious, muddy-kneed, joy-soaked honesty.
If you’d like your own autumn adventure — one filled with genuine moments, movement, laughter and that delicious seasonal nostalgia — let’s talk. Bring the wellies, bring the kids, bring your wonderful selves. I’ll bring the camera, the creative mischief, and my absolute love for photographing real connection. Here’s to wild hair, muddy boots, and memories that get better with every year.
