These terms cover the use of this website, the purchase of artwork and products, and all photography services provided by Alison McMath Photography. By using this website, making an enquiry or booking a session, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
1. About me
Alison McMath Photography is a UK creative business based in West Lancashire, offering personal branding photography, photographic products and original artwork. There is no public physical studio. Sessions take place on location.
2. Website use
This website is for general information, viewing my portfolio and making online purchases. You must not use it in any way that is unlawful or that could damage the website. I may change or withdraw the website at any time without notice.
3. Copyright and intellectual property
All photographs, artwork and content on this website and supplied to clients remain the copyright of Alison McMath Photography unless otherwise agreed in writing. Buying artwork transfers ownership of the physical piece only, not the copyright. No content may be copied, downloaded, reproduced, scanned, shared, altered or commercially exploited without my prior written permission, except as allowed by your usage rights in section 4. Unauthorised use may result in legal action.
4. Image usage rights
When you book a session, you receive a licence to use your final images as follows:
The Edit, The Collection and Brand Sessions (Essentials, Signature and Complete): usage rights for your business marketing. This includes your website, social media, LinkedIn, email newsletters, blogs and online profiles.
The Library and The Editorial Brand Experience: extended usage rights, including advertising, print and press, as well as everything above.
Your licence is for your own business only. Images may not be sold, transferred to another business, entered into competitions or used in a way that misrepresents you or me. If you’d like to use your images in a way not covered here, please ask and I’ll be happy to discuss it.
I may use images from your session for my portfolio, website, marketing and promotion, unless we agree otherwise in writing before your session.
5. Original artwork
Each piece of original artwork is one of a kind and supplied unframed unless stated otherwise. Mounted pieces include the mount only. Every piece is signed and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity. Colours may vary slightly depending on your screen. Once a piece is sold, it is no longer available.
6. Enquiries and bookings
An enquiry does not form a contract. A booking is confirmed only once agreed in writing, including by email. Your fees, session details and deliverables will be set out in your booking confirmation.
7. Payment terms
Payment terms for photography are agreed in writing before any work begins. Artwork must be paid for in full at the time of purchase. Late or missed payments may lead to services being cancelled or final images being withheld until payment is made.
The Editorial Brand Experience requires a 50% non-refundable booking fee to secure your date. The remaining balance is due at least 7 days before your shoot. If you choose to pay in instalments (4 payments of £312.50), the payment dates will be agreed in writing when you book.
8. The Brand Edit Club
Membership: The Brand Edit Club includes one session each season (spring, summer, autumn and winter), with the number of images set out in your chosen membership.
Payment: You can pay per season upfront or spread the cost over three monthly payments per season. Paying per season is the best value.
Minimum term: There’s no long contract. The minimum is 3 months (one season).
First session: If you pay monthly, your first session takes place after your first three payments.
Cancelling in your first 14 days: If you’re a new member, you can cancel within 14 days of signing up for a full refund, as long as your first session hasn’t yet taken place.
Cancelling after that: Let me know before your next season’s session is booked, and nothing further will be payable. Payments cover the period they’re paid for and aren’t refunded once that period has passed.
Changing your membership: You can move up or down a membership, or switch between paying per season and paying monthly. Changes apply from the next season, as long as you let me know before that season’s session is booked.
Missed sessions: If you can’t make a session, please let me know as early as possible. Where I can, I’ll offer you a place at another scheduled session.
9. Image delivery
Your images are delivered through a private online gallery. Delivery times are:
The Library: 5 hero images within 24 hours, with the rest within 3 days
The Collection: within 5 days
The Edit: within 7 days
Brand Sessions and The Editorial Brand Experience: within the timeframe agreed in your booking confirmation
Every image is supplied in both high and low resolution. Extra images can be bought from any session at the prices shown on my pricing page.
10. My 100% satisfaction guarantee
If your images don’t feel like you, or don’t do the job you need, I’ll reshoot them at no extra cost. To use the guarantee:
Let me know within 14 days of receiving your gallery.
The reshoot follows the same brief and takes place within my usual travel area.
One reshoot is offered per session.
The guarantee is a reshoot, not a refund. It doesn’t cover changes to the original brief, or things outside my control, such as the weather or a location becoming unavailable.
11. Travel
Travel within 10 miles of my base in West Lancashire is included. For locations further away, a travel fee may apply, and this will always be agreed with you in advance.
12. Offers and vouchers
Partner voucher: New clients referred by one of my partners can use a £100 voucher. It comes off your first shoot, or your first season if you join the Brand Edit Club. It’s limited to one voucher per client, must be mentioned when you book, and can’t be exchanged for cash.
14-day thank-you offer: If you book The Collection or The Library within 14 days of our call, I’ll add 5 extra images to your first season. This offer can’t be exchanged for cash.
13. Shipping and delivery of products
Shipping details for artwork and physical products are set out in my Shipping Policy, which forms part of these terms.
14. Returns and refunds for products
Returns and refunds for artwork and physical products are covered by my Returns & Refunds Policy. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
15. Limitation of liability
I don’t guarantee that this website will always be error-free or completely up to date. My liability for any services or goods is limited to the amount you paid for them. This doesn’t limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can’t be limited by law.

This website may contain links to other websites. I have no control over them and accept no responsibility for their content.
17. Privacy
My Privacy Policy explains how your personal data is collected, stored and used.
18. Accessibility

I may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page
20. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
