Food & Hospitality
Photography for restaurants, pubs, cafés, hotels and food producers.
The dishes, the room, the kitchen and the people who make it all happen.
Let people see it before they book the table

Before anyone visits, they look
Food, venue and people, photographed on location across Lancashire
They scroll your Instagram, check your website and read the menu online. What they want to see is the food on the plate, the feel of the room and the people they'll be welcomed by.
I photograph all of it, on location at your venue, working around your service so the kitchen keeps moving and nothing goes cold.
I trained in food photography and styling with award-winning food photographer Dr Joan Ransley.

"Alison came to our kitchen at the Cemetery Hotel in Rochdale for a new menu cook off and photography session. She was keen to see the new menu before the shoot and sent over some ideas of flat lays and ways to make the day run smoother with the shoot. Alison brought props to match our new menu and was very attentive with the way I wanted the shoot to run as we had invited staff and customers to join in the tasting. The pictures I got back were incredible and beyond what we expected! We would like to give a huge thanks to Alison for making our already incredible meals pop on a camera even more!"

FAQ

Do I need to hire a food stylist?
For most venue shoots, no. I take care of the basic styling on the day, from arranging garnishes and tidying plates to choosing the best angles, so your chef can simply plate as normal. For more detailed work, such as a new menu launch or a brand campaign, a professional food stylist can make a real difference, and I'm happy to work alongside one. Just mention it when you enquire, and we can include it in your quote.
Do I need to close my venue for the shoot?
Not usually. I work around your service, often photographing dishes and interiors before you open, then capturing the kitchen and atmosphere once things get busy. If you'd prefer a quiet venue for the whole shoot, we can plan for that instead.
What should I prepare before the shoot?
We'll agree on a shot list together beforehand, so you'll know which dishes to prepare and when. It helps to have the venue clean and tidy, tables set as you would for guests, and your team aware that the shoot is happening.
Will you photograph our customers?
Yes, candid moments of guests enjoying their visit are some of the most effective images. I always make sure anyone featured is happy to be photographed, and I'll work discreetly so nobody's meal is disturbed.
Where do you work?
I'm based in Lancashire and work with venues across the county and the wider North West. For venues further afield, travel can be added to your quote.
How can I use the photographs?
Every package includes full usage rights for your website, social media, menus, printed marketing and delivery apps. If you'd like to use the images for paid advertising or supply them to third parties, just let me know when you enquire.
How do I book?
Get in touch with your date and tell me a little about your venue. I'll confirm availability and send a quote, and a 50% deposit secures your date. The balance is due 7 days before the shoot.
Can you photograph our team as well?
Yes. Team photos are a lovely way to introduce the people behind your venue, and they work well on your website, social media and recruitment posts. I can capture natural shots of your staff at work during the shoot, or posed headshots if you'd prefer. Just mention it when you enquire so we can plan time for it.
Planning a new menu, a refurb or a re-opening?
Tell me a little about your venue and what you need, and I'll come back to you with ideas and a quote.
