As part of Chris's personal branding package, I invited him to my home-based studio for a portrait session. As well as being a professional at data protection, he's a really funny guy! He does brilliant talks and stand up comedy, so I wanted to give him some more options to showcase his brand.
I set up the lighting to bring out his features. I wanted to make the photographs gritty and dramatic. This light doesn't suit everyone, but was perfect for Chris. The finished results really make me smile. It was complete team work. I couldn't have achieved these engaging portraits without his total cooperation.
He's a great character in real life so I wasn't surprised we captured some wonderful portraits. Here's a few of my favourite images from his photoshoot. I love the results so much.

"I recently attended a personal branding photoshoot with Alison McMath over two days. Our first day was on location at MediaCityUK in Salford and the second day was at Alison’s studio for some head shots. After being apprehensive about having a photoshoot done for many years, I have to say I was put completely at ease by Alison, and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience!
I am very critical when reviewing photographs of myself, and very self-deprecating, however I am really pleased with each and every image. This is of course is down to the expertise, knowledge, professionalism and skill of Alison. A lot of work goes into every image and it is a far cry from me attempting a mobile selfie!
My shoot had to tick a number of different requirements. I wanted to demonstrate my personality as a data protection practitioner, whilst also conveying my other life as a front of house host, speaker, and part-time comedian! No mean feat!
Whilst the photoshoot was very enjoyable and worthwhile, it is actually the whole process that sets Alison apart from a lot of businesses I deal with. Everything from booking the initial exploratory call through to being able to download website ready images is catered for, and you do not need a degree in information technology to achieve what you want when you want. This attention to detail, is just as important as the photography element itself, for me as a client. Life has enough complications.
